Can you give us some more information, is it a boy or a girl, how old, have you had them long? And what kind of squeak is it? Any other body language?
The good news is that degus usually go very quiet when they are unwell or in pain, so it's more likely to be some kind of social reason or possibly he/she could be alarmed by a noise outside.

Is it a male? After mating or self pleasuring male degus will squeak loudly for up to half an hour - they love to brag about it!
