Degu fell from about a metere

So my degu fell from about a metere. Should I be concerned in case he broke a bone? He fell onto his feet and then slipped on to his side. To be honest I laughed, it was kind of funny. But should I keep an eye on him just in case? Talking about eye, he has a cataract. Again, anything I should keep an eye on? (He has had a cataract for a while)


Also does anybody elses degu do a strange bark when they are hungry? It's like he's demanding for food 😂

Oh degus can be very demanding, lol.

As long as he is moving around OK and there's no sign of injuries or swelling he should be fine.

There are several different types of cataracts so I'd get it checked out by a vet to make sure it's not diabetes related.

He should be OK if he landed OK and hasn't hurt anything internally. If you know how it happened maybe you could make an adjustment so it doesn't happen again?

Mine have been stupid enough to deliberately leap from that height before (each unpredictable, impatient idiocy on the goo's part. If there's no obvious injury, they're probably okay. Will they try again? Depends if they're a demented thrill seeker!

Degus are highly trained to demand exactly what they want, when they want it. Darwin has a LOT to answer for!

Mine fall all the time Ratty thinks he's a sugar glider and just leaped into mid air off my arm once. Little man has missed the top of the cage and slid down the glass before as has basil. Usually look at me like yeah that was totally planned and casually walks off. Little man looks at me like I'm the worst owner ever non have ever seriously Hurt themselves lol
