So, I'm gonna be bringing home Leia and SarahBuffy soon to join River and Miho, so their wooden cage is gonna need an extension that isn't gonna happen til spring (ie when it's consistently dry enough to get all the cutting gear out...)
In the meantime, I have a thickets cage with a hole cut in the top, and their wooden cage has a similar sized hole in the side for ventilation. See where I'm going with this?
I need a tube that can join the two cages together. Well, no, let's be fair. There are many tubes that could do that. Does anyone know of any somewhat-flexible tubing material of a reasonable diameter, which I could use to join the two cages together, which is relatively chewproof and hopefully inexpensive?
(Also, on a grumbly side note, my council just refused to take my blue bin (garden waste) away because it contains cardboard. I mean, yes, it does, but the council website says pet bedding is fine, and I use cardboard squares as my pet bedding! Argh. At least I'm near the end of this bale, and I'll just not buy more of them.)

I joined two cages together with Ferplast plastic ferret tubes.
The sections are joined together with plastic rings. I made square holes like you have now, drilled out 10cm circles from the middle of each, and a little hole in each corner for fixings. INSIDE each cage, and onto this metal panel, I fixed a ring with wire, then joined the tubes in between. You occasionally have to replace the plastic rings inside the cages, but it’s all good because you end up with too many anyway (each tube section comes with one on either end).

Large plumbing tubes? You can cut to size, and they have all those really cool joints for corners and such. The heavy duty plastic ones.

I tried the metal flexible flue pipe, they chewed it and created lots of sharp edges and shards of razor sharp metal was being distributed around the cage, I only had it in for a few days. I have yet to find a destroy proof tube. Looking forward to seeing what works!
