Hello all!
Unfortunately, towards the end of last year, Cedric's brother, Elijah, lost a health battle. I have had Cedric here alone ever since. While I love him, I think he'd be happier and less lonely in a home with other degus. I am also planning to move around the country a bit (for work training and jobs) and hope to eventually work on cruise ships.
Cedric and all of the things you and he will need are free if you can provide a good home. Please note, I'll extensively talk to prospective takers to assure that he goes to the right place. I'm looking for someone who is willing to put in the time and effort to work on introductions, who is knowledgeable about care, and someone who will love him for the rest of his life. I do not want him going to a place without other male degus or for him to wind up in the wrong hands where he'd be abused or fed to a snake. (My sister recently acquired (and saved) rats that were advertised as snake food. It freaked me out a lot.)
I live in the city of Beverly, Massachusetts. It's about 30 minutes north of Boston. I'd prefer he went to someone who is relatively close by (though I know that degu owners are not abundant around here). I'd prefer not to put him on an airplane.
If you think you would be a good candidate to home him, please contact me so I can provide personal contact details and we can begin talking. Also please let me know how many male degus you have and their ages. Cedric is about 4 years old or so now.
Thanks so much! =D
Also, I'd really like him to go to a person who wouldn't mind me checking in on him on occasion. I know I'm going to miss him a lot and would love updates, so please keep that in mind.

Do you know about Mill City Degus? Run by a woman named Diana, and very close to you. Perhaps she can put you in contact with someone who would be a good home for Cedric. Will pm you her phone and contact info, and if you are on Facebook you can look her up there under Mill City Degus.

Hello fellow degu lovers! I am very happy to report that today Cedric successfully found a new home with Mill City Degus. Thank you SO MUCH Winic1 for the suggestion and for helping make my move from home so much easier. Cedric is, as of today, with other degus again. Diana came and got him today, along with the cage, which she plans to spilt. Thankfully, she has a lot of degus and she's going to try some pairings and see if she can find a mutual match. I now no longer have any degus, but I will try not to be a stranger to the forum. I now have a wealth of experience and information and may be able to help someone down the road. I would like to extend a sincere and truly heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people I've interacted with on the proboards during my time with my goos. It was amazing to have such a large group of people willing to dedicate their time to answering questions, sharing opinions, and telling experience stories. This is a remarkable resource and enhanced my life and that of my degus. I'm driving across the country to Nevada starting on Wednesday to start a new chapter of my life but I'll pop on here on occasion to do what I can and keep in touch. Thanks again everyone! You are the best! Warm regards, -Brendan / Peeta PS- thread moderators, in a short time please feel free to lock/ remove this thread if that's in occurrence with procedure. This thread has served it's purpose and led to Cedric finding a new and happy home. )

So glad for both Cedric and yourself!! May Cedric be long lived and very happy with an equally long lived companion or three. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy Nevada, and pray that your travels are safe. May the changes in your life be full of good things, and bring much growth in your life and heart! Looking forward to hearing from you in the weeks ahead!!
