Hi all, I have had my boys for a few months now and all is going well. My brother owns my boy's brother's....still with me He feels that he does not spend enough time with his boy's and would like me to take them. The problem I have with this is that I really don't want to stress my boy's out and was wondering if, after reading some introduction 'horror' stories if there was any chance intro's may run smoother as these 4 were originally litter mates? I know I'm probably clutching at straws, but I'm hoping this and the fact that they are still under 6 mnths old will bode for a happy reunion....Any advice?

don't let the horror stories put you off... some people have an exceptionally hard time introducing new degus, and others have an exceptionally easy time. if it's any consolation, even if they're not best buddies right off the bat, 9 times out of 10 they'll EVENTUALLY settle down and get along. it's not often that 2 degus' personalities clash so much that they are mortal foes forever.

I'm with you and would hope that their being brothers will make a re-introduction easier. Diet Otaku did a good job of integrating her Degus and I think Meg has done well too. There's always hope. Keep a close eye on them and give them time.
How are things going thus far?

Hi....thanks for your replies, but here ends a rather sweet tale.... The brothers were only with us for two days, with their cages side by side on the dining room table, there was lots of squeeking, warbling and sniffing and all looked well. On the second day I took down the curtains for a quick wash...amazing how much 4 degus can wee in 2 days!!!...anyway.... my neighbour knocked and asked what the cages were for, I asked her in....she fell in love...and the Brothers have now been adopted!!! The bit that makes me laugh is she is her 60's, retired and was on the verge of getting a cat!!! I feel glad knowing that she has loads of time for them and if there are any problems she can call on me. Sorted.
