From memory, you have to order a model with a stand - let me see if I can find it for you.....

Thank you for the second pair of eyes! I'll shoot over an e-mail asking if they can do a bare wheel 16 inch wheel with a stand.

Yep! Nothing goos like more than wood chomping I can vouch for that! My goos have nearly destroyed one of their splash guards lol!!

You could try getting some aluminium profiling wide enough for the wood. Put it over the tops and they will outlast the boys!

UPDATE
I have been to P@H and bought them a bag of Carefresh, a large bag of Timothy hay and a new Living World glass bottle.
Tic tac wheels aren't posting orders until the 30th so it'll be a few weeks until my goos "upgrade" is done.

My guys have a 16" tictac wheel, all 3 run at once I have had both a plain silver one & several coloured ones. One thing I will say is that the coating is amazing, everything wipes straight off. 2 of my wheels are over a year old & look the same as the new one I bought 2 weeks ago. The plain metal ones are much more difficult to keep clean, pee stains them & after a few years they can look pretty grotty. Even though they're clean, the stains make it look filthy. I wouldn't use one without the coating ever again. Maybe the plasticote spray paint would be ok to use to cover your plain wheel? I don't know how safe they are. They make ones that are stone colour apparently www.amazon.co.uk/Plasti-kote-9444-400ml-Stone-Touch/dp/B001GU6HKUOn the tictac wheels the coating doesn't come off when they chew it, but I think the spray might, not sure.

Thank you randomname for the heads up!! I'm a fan of Tic Tac wheels but I'm also looking at DIY wheels (ones made with cake tins etc). I'm not 100% sure what route to go down... Also, do I buy/make a saucer instead of a wheel or vice versa?

UPDATEI have used the wood board from my old bread bin and made it into a small platform by attaching some sticks on the bottom!

Also, do I buy/make a saucer instead of a wheel or vice versa? I have both. I have a 14 inch tic tac and a 14 inch cake pan and rollerblade wheel. To be 100% honest, there is very little difference between the two functionally. Tic tac is a little deeper (5 inches vs cake pan at 4 inches) so my girls can run side by side much easier on that. I got the tic tac with a stand and it is movable and my cake pan is more permanently installed. But because of the stand, the tic tac takes more floor space. Both run dead quiet. Cake pan wins in the price tag department usually. I recently bought a second cake pan to install and will replace the tic tac with it. Not because I don't like it, but I would like a little more floor space. I'm going to use the tic tac when I do play pen time. Generally a causal observer can't tell the difference between tic tac and cake pan. Oh! And saucer! I have a home made one of those too! Of all of them, the saucer is my favorite, but it takes up the most room and it requires more frequent maintenance that the others (because they chew the base and I have to replace every few months). I love the saucer because they just look like they have more fun with it. Also I have seen up to three at a time on my saucer. The girls also really like it as a hiding spot. If something spooks them, you can guarantee there's at least one or two of them under the saucer. It does take a ton of space though, mine is 17 inches in diameter so it takes up about 1/2 the floor space on a single level. Hopefully this is helpful with your decision making. (Note, I have lots of running toys because I have 6 girls in one cage, they pretty much need this much to split between them.)

Make your own cake tin wheel if you can, it will be just as good, and if you use an aluminium cake tin you get the plain colour you want. I'm sure Zenaida can link you to the description of how she made hers with a skateboard wheel, if you want to see how I made mine with an industrial bearing, let me know and I will get my photobucket links working again for you. This is the kind of cake tin you need, I think I got one cheaper on AMazon or ebay www.cakecraftshop.co.uk/shop/products/id/krnd144.htmIt's easy to make a saucer too if Ikea still do the Snudda lazy susans.

They were expensive tho! The large branch was £22 and the smaller one was £9. Worth it since they climb all over them Thanks!!
