I've been foraging again, but am reluctant to feed them as much fresh at the moment - I want to dry enough to see the through the winter!
My lot don't seem to stick to the cleavers - very disappointing from an entertainment perspective!

How lovely to get a popcorn. Lol at the cleavers.
Look out for hedge bedstraw (Galium album) which is the same genus but not sticky, it looks similar, the leaves are a bit more crowded. There are a few fairly common bedstraws.

Moletteuk: I'm guessing they can't have those?

A quick search of toxicity isn't throwing up any particular reason why not, but I haven't done a thorough check. I was just presuming that Galium album is less well known because less common but likely to be equally safe, but maybe because there are lots of bedstraws people have just steered clear of the complication?

Some virburnum fruits can be toxic. I'm not getting anything much for general toxicity, but it's quite a big family, might be worth searching species name.
