Hi,
I am looking for someone to adopt my chinchilla Milo. He will be 4 years old on May 16. A few moths ago his brother passed away. Since then I've started to notice he's chewing his fur and he seems distressed. He has never been on his own before. I think what has also made the situation worse is I have a mouse at the moment which was getting into his cage by climbing up the curtains. I have managed to stop this from happening but I noticed he doesn't seem as interested in coming out of his cage anymore and the fur chewing has gotten worse. I'm worried about him, and I don't think I can provide him with what he needs. I also think he needs the company of other chinchillas, so finding someone who already has a chinchilla would probably be best.
He's really really lovely, although can be a bit timid when it comes to new people. He doesn't particularly like to be held, but he will happily run all over you if you just sit with him.
I'm based in Rochester Kent. If you are unable to come get him I can try arrange transport to you. He would come with his dust bath, treats, cage ect.. so please let me know if you are interested. I would really like to get him settled somewhere soon.

Have you considered putting a post for Milo in the adoption zone. He may get more attention there.

Have you contacted your local rescues? If they can find him & friend & bond them it'll make him a lot more adoptable. I had problems finding chins in rescues when i was looking but the RSPCA seemed to have the most. They were all down south somewhere, but can't remember where.
You're doing a really good thing for him, but I know it must be hard for you. I fully believe no matter how great a bond a human has with an animal, nothing makes up for not having same species interaction. It shows how much you love him & are putting his welfare first by looking to rehome him. Sadly I'm the opposite end of the country & am full to the brim at the moment, but I wish I could help.
