I thought I would tell you the story, at least what I remember of it, of my nans chin, Charlie.
She got him in 84 when she moved into her new house. She moved in, Charlie never moved out, he was abandoned there when the previous tenant left. We have no idea how old he was, what he ate etc, but he certainly took to nan really well.
He used to spend the days on her shoulder and the nights loose in her bedroom, the only time he went in his cage was if she went out, which wasn't often. He ate chinchilla food as well as treats all day like apple and raisins and he was always so very friendly with everyone.
He was awake most of the day, despite supposedly being nocturnal, and was often seen rummaging the back of the sofa for any titbit he could find. He was never jumpy or bitey despite his innocuous beginning.
Charlie died when I was 11 (1994). He was such a character and often made us laugh til we cried. We have no idea how old he was but hopefully he enjoyed his years with us, despite being a single chin.
