Hi everyone, I have been reading these boards for a few months as I get ready to introduce degus to our family. Last night I built the cage and ended up with a very excited little boy who wanted to put in everything we have bought so far. Still a little way to go before it's ready, but not long now. We can't wait. Thanks for all your advice so far. Sky

That looks GREAT!! How many degus are you getting? Do you plan to use a substrate to cover the trays?

Thanks, I had a very proud little boy as Mummy built it by herself (quite proud of myself too). In answer to your questions,
We are planning on 2 degus, probably from Pets at Home (eek) as I have tried local adoption and for sale websites, but there are not many around and any enquiries I have made have been ignored. I have sawdust and hay to go in the trays and edible mats for the shelves, just waiting for nearer the time before I put all of that in.

Which county are you in? The only word of warning I would give about P@H is to make sure the degus' bits all look the same also, do you mean sawdust, or woodshavings?

Very exciting Just a little warning to always try and check the sexes for yourself.
