Hi. Does anyone know if degus loose fertility with ageing and if so what age they are likely to be infertile? I am particularly interested in the females' fertility levels if there's any information or knowledgeable folks out there.

Females lose fertility to some point, but will always be fertile. A friend of mine, member of a degu rescue organisation, several years ago had a pregnant 7 year old degu... so pregnancy is always possible, but risks increase considerably with age.
May I ask why you are asking?

Thanks Mark villa. I have just recently rescued a 7-8 year old Degu that I was told was a boy, however on sexing it she is in fact a girl. I was told she was in with other boys and getting on OK with them before she came to me. Just wondering if she may be pregnant.

OOOF!! Can't imagine a 7 year old degu being pregnant! That would be like being 70 and pregnant. Poor degu!
