Hi folks. I was inspecting my degus and found one of them had circular white 'thing' beneath her cone. I looked up Degutopia, and I think it's to do with protecting baby degus in the womb... Except the other degus are definitly female. Below is a bit of a backstory of my degus since they're not entirely straightfoward.
I adopted Dilly and Dally about four years ago from Pets@Home. Both were just over a year old and had a bit of a checkered pass (both have large bits of tail missing and run away from people). I wss told both were female.
Sadly, Dilly passed away three weeks ago. So I went back to Pets@Home and bought two young female degus, Dilly and Dolly. I was following Degutopa's guide for introducing degus, but just over a week, my dad decided they looked sad and introduced them outside the cage. Long story short, there's been no serious fighting and all three degus are living in harmony.
Last night, I picked up Dally and spotted the white crust thing, which made me think Dilly and/or Dolly might be male. Dilly and Dolly are female, but I'm not sure about Dally (there is a gap between the cone and anus, but it's very small). I've checked Dilly and Dolly and there's no markings or anything. I've not heard any loud squeaks/chirps, but that could've happened when I was at work. Also Dally's the alpha degu and she has necer let another degu on top of her.
I do recall that this has happened to Dally a few times before, years ago, and nothing ever happened.
Can anyone provide any insight? I'm worried, but if this has happened in the past, everything should be ok, right?

P@H do not have a good record of sexing degus correctly but I have only ever had boys!!! I am sure someone who has had both sexes will be able to give you advice soon!

Can you take a good photo of the genital region of all three of them? Both to show what you mean by white crust and to see if all of them are really females. If they are, there is "only" the problem of old Dilly that we do not know if she was female as well. Are you able to weigh Dally regularly to see over the next couple of weeks if there is a weight gain?
