Hey Hun I am in the exact same boat I had three one turned out male so I ended up with two preg degus sadly one died due to complications from birth and so did all her pups. Trying to come to terms with it is hard But my other female Is doing well and has four pups all cheeky and naughty they are about 1.5 weeks old now I have decided to get my male neutered he ia going to the vets in 30 mins. I suggest you try different vets. I am using my own vets who I've used for years he is an exoctics expert but I think they do great I had my hamster go under the knife and he was fine. I live in meraeyside uk and the cost of the is a little over £40 then there will be painkillers and post op appointment. I thought at first to give my guy away but as I also adopted him pets at home I didn't want to stress him out having to start all over again. The kinder thing is to get him neutered and back into the family. Please keep us posted with what u decide to do.

Let us know how he gets on with his op, it is interesting for other users to get feedback on the process, that will hopefully make peoples decisions on the issues more informed in the future.....Good luck with it!!

9 days since his op now and no problems, he went back in with his family after 5 days when he had his check up at the vets. He has healed nicely, has no problems and he and the family are doing well.
Still have all 9 goos, 4 weeks 3 days old now and growing and jumping all over the place.
They all like to sit on the high shelf and sleep in a huddle with mum and dad, apart from a little bickering at food time (have to spread it over multiple levels to stop the fighting) they all get on well.
Have to look at rehoming the boys next week so will be ringing Pets at Home to see when they get some vacancies.
That's for all the replies and info - it really has helped

Update - Brown and Stripe are now back living together in the big cage. No problems from his op and now 4 months on there have been no further pregnancies. Have managed to get all 9 baby goos adopted through Gumtree and Preloved Pets and have had photos back from all 3 owners showing enclosures and happy little goos. We ended up buying a secon cage and had all boys in one and all girls in the other until they were adopted.
Only slight problem I have is Brown has lost all the fur round her eyes, we think this is from over-grooming but both are now happy, friendly and settled together - what an adventure these past 8 months have been!

Sounds like an adventure all right. But sounds like it has been a mostly happy one! Glad all has gone so well.
