Whilst I was browsing the website and others today, to find my chin a friend, I have seen so many adverts which are selling a male (un-neutered) and a female together. The owners are obviously incompetent as some are being sold as their children are scared of them or don't play with them, it breaks my heart to see those poor chinchillas who have been bought as a present for a child! These people obviously don't know anything about chinchillas, one of the pictures for an advert even contains a chinchilla in a run outside made of chicken wire! It amazes me how little some people know about chinchillas! I got my chinchilla from an adoption website in January, she had lived with a female and a male and obviously been left to breed, the even worse thing was that when they got sold because the owners were moving house, the girls were separated (I'm not surprised if another chinchilla owner has another pregnant chin!) I was planning on bonding my chin with another this summer before the surprise of the babies. Another thing about them is that she came to me with terrible bumble foot and scabs on her feet (which have mostly healed now) she is terrified of people and constantly bites even though I was told that she has never bitten anybody! Also one of the owners had told me that she was bought from a pet shop and the other had told me that she was bred from the other two chins, she was supposedly one year old when I got her. sorry about the rant but it breaks my heart to see chinchillas who have suffered like this
