New to degus and rescued 2 pregnant females one of which had had 6 of the cutest little degus
Male has been separated
My question is how can you sex them as all 6 look like they have male genitalia I've tried google but as normal it's pritty vague
Any help would be appreciated as hoping to put males in with dad once weaned so we don't have babies again

Because I was so insecure about sexing them myself, I took my degus' litters of pups to the vet when they were between 6 to 8 weeks of age. He figured out who was male and who was female (though there was a wee bit of doubt in the case of a couple of them), put the males in one carrier and the females in the other, and then I took them home to be placed in the appropriate cages (boys with father Sean, Lilac's daughters with her, and Peridot's daughters with her). Two years later – no more unplanned pregnancies.

That's great that you managed to sex them and you would have a nice group size for the males too! How old are the little ones now?

Lol I bet you have a few troublemakers in the bunch!
At 6 weeks you'll want to split them into same sex groups as they are early bloomers. The girls will be fertile around now and the boys are soon to follow!

Yup, by eight weeks the boys can do the deed.
