If I offer a pinch of small seeds in my fingers from above I can sometimes get a decent look if I get the angle right.

I'm sure I'd stared a new thread about teeth issues... Well anyway mr grey is booked in next week.to have some spurs removed he's been really miserable and moody and I've been yawn spying on him and I'm pretty sure I've seen a long spur in his mouth it would explain his being very miserable and cuddly

OUCH! How are they doing? Does Al need antibiotics as well? I hope the best recoveries for them, and ease of medicating for Al.

No he said its defo not infected but if he shows any signs of getting worse call up and he'll get some anti biotics prescribed! He's had his pain killer their both zonked out on a heat pad. Still alive I gave them a jab to check as I've been out all evening :-) earl Grey has never visited the vets it puzzles me as he's never shown teeth issues ever. But he is an avid chewer either his mouth is great or he's suffering In silence and I've never noticed....

Wishing the best of luck to both Al and Mr. Grey.
It is very difficult to tell whether or not there are teeth issues happening. It all depends on where the spurs are. (My poor dear Sean. Should have taken him in earlier but he showed no signs until he just stopped eating.) Suffice it to say, you can only do what you can do. Too risky to put them under sedation just to check for possible spurs but also too risky to wait too long. Luck plays a big part in dealing with these issues; other than trying to prevent them altogether (if that is even possible. There are a lot of us working on this).

Earl hasent stopped eating and is very fat so I'm taking that as his teeth r ok I don't see him having any difficulty eating either so maybe he's OK

Hey guys sorry nit been about lately super busy with the house!! Anyway took Al and Mr grey to vets last night fir their 6 monthly spur trim and check up. Both needed spur removal as per norm, but... Both of them lost some molars during the procedure Al lost one and Mr grey lost 2. Dean wasn't concerned and said they were already loose And pascal's came out. Question is why.?? Their around 5 years now... Bit worried. Their fine Tiday eating normal and that

I'm not sure! Whenever I've talked to to the vet about teeth, I've always been told that the roots are incredibly strong and, if you try to remove them, you could end up breaking the jaw instead.
Could they have just broken off, and potentially grow back over time?
On the plus side, fewer future spur trims!

I shouldn't think so, unless they bumped around a bit whilst chewing a favourite stick. Isn't tooth loss usually associated with trauma or gum disease? Weird!

I don't know, but a couple of other people have had loose teeth removed lately, so you're not the only one. I'll be interested to see if they grow back. I wonder if it could be to do with mineralisation of the tooth, that's the only thing you can do anything about, so maybe look again at mineral content of the diet, get plenty of calcium into them. Did the vet offer any advice? I think you are doing well to still be at 6 months trims with them needing dental treatment from a young age and now being 5.

2 removed from Kev. He's only 1.
The wobblyness of one has caused spurs to grow on the other so they both came out. Root and all.
My vet offered no advice long term.
Weird.
There's been a few of us recently.. I wonder why?

There wasn't any gum disease that he saw and no infection he did say they may grow back. Maybe I should get some calcium powder they get plenty of dried herbs and I offer fresh greens but they dont really eat it
He said monitor then fir a few days any problems and he'd sort out some anti inflammatory but they were eating this morning

None of mine have ever lost a tooth. Very odd that the root and all came out – would be a major cure for my goos who have (and have had) roots growing into their nasal cavities.

That was my thought precisely yasmin! Having said that, his personality makes him so special and his teeth issues are part of that.
