I know that chins should have wheels but I only have access to amazon and P@h, the p@h wheel seems way too small and on amazon they are all plastic, I heard that they should not have plastic. My one little chin has just regular playtime but she could do with a wheel, she dosent chew anything so should I order a large wheel for her or will it start her chewing? she seems so bored, I'd do anything to make her better, I cannot build a wheel due to lack of resources (I tried and failed with my goos wheel) what can I get, could you possibly give suggestions?

If the wheel is suitable for hamsters it won't be at all suitable for chinchillas. You need a wheel about 16" I believe (defiantly no smaller than 12"), this is to avoid the chinchilla arching it's back, when I was looking for wheels, I found that they were incredibly hard to find (a decent metal one). John hopewell used to make highly recommended chinchilla wheels, though I think that he has stopped making them. I chose a flying saucer from shelfridges: www.shelfridges.co.uk/flyingsaucerwheel/>> It was £80, they do deliver to the UK and Ireland, so you should be able to get it delivered to you. You will have to wait for them to get back in stock though. There was also this one that a forum member on chinchillaworld.com recommended: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161185137062>> it is slightly smaller, so it just depends how big your chinchilla is I suppose, but it's cheaper And here is a helpful thread in chinchillaworld.com: www.chinchillaworld.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10108

I have found this on amazon, I know it's plastic but she has never chewed anything so would it do until I make her a flying saucer, I will do some changes to a p@h wooden wheel for degus to make it into a flying saucer for her. Attachments:

If she doesn't chew it, then I'm sure it will be fine. Though I have to say, mine is a 13" flying saucer and I do sometimes wonder if it's slightly too small for one of my chinchillas (peanut), as he does run fairly close to the edge, but I have never seen him fall off so it's probably just me worrying
