We had something like this for our original three boys . . . and they ADORED IT! They loved to be inside it. They did eventually begin to try their teeth at some interior decorating and it then began to fall to pieces, but until it got to a point that there were dangerous holes (ie heads could get into them) they were in it whenever they wanted to snooze or snuggle. You're two boys will really enjoy it!

So I put it in there last night.. And I made moose go inside.. And he was hesitant to go in, but as soon as he was.. He sort of stopped.. And looked around.. And it was like he was saying "woah! This is actually really cool!" And then I couldn't get him out of it!

Yes haha have yet to see rocket inside it, but then again I haven't been home much the last couple of days. Doesn't look like they've chewed it yet!

Lol it looks cute, I hope it becomes a favourite and I'm chuckling at you 'persuading' Moose to have a look inside.

Haha it was more like me pushing his little butt inside. He puts up with me a lot but they definitely loved it. Just got a sewing machine for Christmas so I'm going to soon try my hand at sewing a hammock!

I have been trying to find feed that my guys like and have been struggling, farmers markets are closed for the winter, and no garden to harvest from. My question is are Mung beans and split peas ok for them to eat?

Mung beans and split peas are safe. Split peas are a bit high in sugar and protein, so keep to smaller amounts.

I just bought this for my boys last night and wanted to see if it was safe for them. There are a couple seeds I'm not familiar with. Guaranteed analysis: Crude protein (min.)....19.0% Crude fat (min.)....25.0% Crude fiber (max.)....14.0% Moisture (max.)....12.0% Ingredients: Niger seed, flax seed, rape seed, sesame seed, red millet, small yellow millet, hemp seed, anise seed, natural flavors

The only thing I'm trying to wrack my brain for is anise seed, a quick search says Winic has fed degus a mix with anise seeds in and her goos are fine so I'd think it would be okay... Maybe somebody can verify that though?

I checked other forums and they're using anise in their natural mixes so it's fine

Thanks! I was just trying to look around for more info. Hemp seed is good too? That was the other I was unsure of. And how often can feed this? Daily? It looks like a good majority of it is Niger

Yeah hemp is fine You could feed it daily, the majority of the ingredients are oil-seeds which is what people are starting to prefer from starch seeds. I would just see how it goes and keep weighing them on a regular basis to see if you need to cut back. Oh and I should say, try to supplement it with fennel, sesame or celery seeds if you can find any to balance out the calcium:phosphorous
