Everytime I read this thread title I hear Lionel Ritchie singing in my head Hmmm, me too, glad I'm not the only one Just some people have already mentioned, breeding groups are normally trios (1 male, 2 female) so I'm slightly concerned that there might be quite a lot of fighting in mating season. Are you really sure you want to breed them? I'm only saying this because it's heartbreaking so see people who have bred them, and have no homes for the litter/not enough space etc. It would take a lot of effort as well. I mean, it's up to you, but I'm not sure it's a good idea. From what I've heard, breeding goos isn't easy, and most of the people who think it's a good idea, end up having either too many litters, or they have to put them into rescue centers. Which upsets me Just saying... Please consider that. But I'm sure we can all help with your research, if you're definitely going to breed them. Hope this helps.

I have to agree, degus breed very well and very quickly. Pups are able to breed very early. Females can conceive at 6 weeks of age, and males can inseminate by age 13 weeks, if not earlier. Mommas will conceive the same day/night (males will be there waiting to mate as soon as the last pup is born) they deliver and then give birth again 90 days later. The growth potential is . . . well . . . enough to make a body feel heart sick if they get caught in it, whether the mating is intentional or catches them by surprise. Sp . . . be aware . . . you can find yourself swimming in a deep pond before you know it.
