Hmm I figured as much, I'll just have to go out on a woodland walk somewhere. I keep remembering there's a few apple trees nearby but can't for the life of me remember where!

All this is mega helpful guys and thanks again! I'm sure il be out foraging for my little thugs pretty soon. Still trying to get my head around the dos and donts regarding their diet. So much different compared to when I used to own rats. I have dried dandelion leaves for them which is like crack to them lol. What sort of stuff should I avoid? I know anything with a sugar content should be avoided and they shouldn't have some nuts all the time. I want to keep my kids healthy and full of buzz!

Welcome to the forum, Popstaarr!! It is lovely to meet you, and to hear how much you are enjoying and already love your degus.
To answer a question from several posts back, degus on average will have a body length of 6 inches/15 cm and an equal tail length for an overal length of 12 inches/30 cm. Getting their actual length can be hard as they can streeeetch so far, and then bunch up into a little round fluff ball, and you've probably noticed that they don't stay still much, so a tape measure won't do you much good. ;D I use the palm of my hand more than anything else to "guestimate" the size of our goos.
