I had some Em,but the gits found where the stash was and chomped through the plastic lids!
Plus these are 20L now and I still need a couple more 😫 I think it's because they're air tight that bumps up the price

Can the degu exquisit be given daily? And herb garden blossom mix? Which brands are they DL? If they're rat rations, the blossom mix can be fed daily, but for the degu exquisit, it depends on how much carrot and beetroot is in the bag. If it's several pieces per handful then I would limit it to two-three times a week as a treat instead and look for a herb mix that doesn't contain any veg.

Don't worry, daily won't have done them any harm. I just like to give any veg as a treat rather than as a daily food item because I have degus with cataracts.
For other mixes on rat rations, they have herb garden - victorian mix and a mixed herbs one that are okay but look chopped rather than being large pieces of forage.

I give it daily, but only small amounts and I take out most of the carrot and all of the beetroot biccies except one.

So much information. Awesome. I need to rewirk my goos feed really. They just get bought mixs but id love to start making a better mix for them.
Is there a list of ratrations and zooplus foods thats goo safe thats more recent than 2012 anywhere lol.
Mine currently get any zooplus forage mix they will eat one handfull a day and science select biscuits. Small amount of sunflower seeds and a weekly peanut in shell
Finding it hard to find hay they like. Ive tried the oat from zooplus. No interest or normal hay from p@h Are the hay bales just as goid for them if they wont eat loose hay?

Peanuts are more of a once a month thing, and sunflower seeds are more like once a week. Hay bales? Are you feeding Timothy hay or ordinary hay? Try Timothy or meadow and get the ones that are mixed in with things like Dandelion and chamomile. Burgess do them. Most forage is safe for them, just watch out for added wheat, grains, carrots, beetroot, corn, anything sugary etc and buy them and pick it out or use another one. If you PM me I can help you pick what's safe etc rather than clog up this board.

I think you can get away with two or three sunflower seeds each daily . . . but not more than that. Likewise with pumpkin seeds, but not two or three each of both seed types.

Most of the Zooplus forages are the same, it just varies which they have in stock, Ratrations have increased their range quite a lot, look out for ones with large pieces, many degus aren't keen on forage chopped small. If you get really into the forage you should try Hansemann's, much better value and choice, you just need to do a big order to justify the postage from Germany. If you do a Ratrations order get some of the degu seed mixes. If you do a Zooplus order get some dandelion roots.

My lot can't get enough of it, and will squabble if I don't make sure there's plenty.

Mine adore Dandelion root. I bought some treats today from p@h to see if Alfie will like them as he likes NOTHING. They're these: I liked them due to the fact that despite being commercial, they're grain free. They aren't brilliant but hey.. Alfie actually took one (then dropped it after 5 nibbles).

I can't think where I hot them from but I bought a small bag of heart shaped treats once.. If you spot them it says you can feed them to degu on the bag and mine go nuts.. I bet Alfie will like those.. but feed sparingly as it says on the bag

I'm trying to get the healthiest treats I can find 😂 I may have to succumb to the heart shaped treats if he carries on hating everything lol. Thank you claire x

Emily, bouncy is right, think they're Rosewood's little hearts? Their fenugreek crunchies are pretty awesome bribery, but are mainly wheat so not grain free. Even misty likes them. Have you tried just dried dandelion? Misty seems really keen on that too (nettle as well) I think she just likes crunchy stuff.
