The bad thing is people will buy them because they want to go with the cheapest thing. It's sick.

Agreed, especially since you can get some lovely degu appropriate cages for very little.

It is SO annoying that you have to be registered to Report an Item!! I don't personally have an ebay account so I can't report them.

I just tried to report and I can't since it doesn't fall under any of their categories Copying of your listing counterfit item prohibited item listing breaches (e.g outside links) ebay motor vehicle related fraudulent stolen item Which of those am I able to report under? Answer none, that's rubbish. It could be sold to an unknowing degu owner and potentially harm their pets, especially as the listing saying it's an excellent size for the animals listed, which is a bloody lie.

That blooming stupid, not having an 'other' option or something similar. It should seriously be added, even if it was something like "Listing is inappropriate for item", that would be enough.
The only thing to do then, is to contact the seller. I doubt they'd listen since they seem very sure that's it's good for degus.

Nods, I don't want to contact the seller as it would look like harrassment, I just wanted to report and move on yet that's not possible I agree an 'other' option would suffice, but as it is there's no way to report.

I had that as well when I tried to report a guide on degus. They completely gave the wrong information, mainly suggesting feeding a high protein diet to 'strengthen them'! What a load of utter rubbish - they clearly don't know that a degu's digestive system and associated organs (i.e. kidneys and liver) just can't process high quantities of protein. They are designed for a 70% average hay diet. Last time I checked there wasn't much protein in hay.
Anyhow, went to report the guide and same as you none of the report options were appropriate. Really really p****d me off!

I'm glad it's not just me who's annoyed, that would have p****d me off as well, what utter rubbish about their diet. Trouble is if we can't stop them from giving the wrong information, they won't change their listings and other people will buy their stuff thinking the information is corret.

You could try to put it under a different category anyway? 'because at least then there might be a chance of it getting removed? I don't know This stuff really annoys me.

theres no way a degu would fit into that cage, never mind live happily with good health!! how do they expect chinchillas and Ferrets to live a week cooped up like that!! If we can't report it, we should just make sure the public are aware that when owning a degu, they need to be looked after correctly!! Hope i never have to see an animal put into a tiny mesh box like that.

i have reported the cages and stated that they could cause the death of many animals!! hope they take this into consideration when counting their profits. Maybe think of the animals health and happiness before the money.

May I ask under which category you reported it Esther, as some of us were having difficulties with reporting as it doesn't fall under any of the reportable categories.
