Bought 4 new degu's yest, was told they were all females. I love them they are fab. was watching them earlier and 2 were playing around 1 was trying to get on top of other, did look like she was trying to hump but thelma got away , iv not handled them much leaving them settle a bit more so not had chance to have a look at the sex myself, hope they were playing hahaha.

They could just be trying to sort out who's boss. My girls do hump each other and they really are girls. It's usually a dominance thing. The sooner you can sneak a peek at their unmentionables the better just to be on the safe side. After Reading lots of posts on here there are a lot of mis-sexed goos about! If I need to check mine i usually offer an oat high up the cage bars and have a look as they climb. Gives you a nice clear view and it's easier than trying to hold them still. I did use a washed out coffee jar too once, let them get in then have a look. I have to check one of mine quite regularly for a problem 'down there'. Hope that helps a bit. :-)

thanks, yea iv read that about who's boss thing, iv managed to sex 2 lol, other 2 wont keep still.
