Last night just before bedtime - for the boys and mummy and daddy the 4 pups did their usual lap of honour around my dressing gown and then back into the cage. Half way around i heard this noise - not a squeek or bark but low chuntering - not like when they are talking or aggetated but a low mumbling. Squeek then came out sat on my shoulder bum to my cheek (usual position!) and continued for a couple of secs almost as if talking to me about something then stopped hopped into the cage and off they went for their bed. i wish i could explain it more but it was not a noise i had heard before - anyone got any ideas. Not an alarm etc very calm almost like he was having a chat to himself ?

I have no idea! Mine make such funny noises. Sometimes they sound like Sweep (the dog puppet from sooty and sweep, lol) and sometimes they sound like they're laughing. I've almost learned how to understand 'Degu' now, lol.
Have you tried the list of sounds on Degutopia?

My pepper often has a 'chat' with me, sometimes she sounds like she's grumbling away to herself! I just talk back to her, usually along the lines of 'oh dear pep, what's daisy done now?!'. I'm sure she's tattling on her.
