Although I have seen this a few times in Rosie and Violet, Cheeky and Nibbs do it much more often and am wondering if they are fighting? They both stand up on their hind legs, and sort of 'hold hands' and they go mouth to mouth (not biting, sort of just putting their teeth against the others teeth, if that makes sense). They sort of look like they are dancing. Should I be concerned? (Sorry, I am still learning.)

No don't worry! That is called Boxing. It's a dominance fight so they'd just determining who is the ruler of the roost!

Ok, makes sense. So I shouldn't worry? Now, I was just reading about how this time of year, seeing more of this behavior is pretty normal because of hormones going up as it is coming into breeding season. My question is, is this NOT a good time to be trying to do intros between (what I have been told) are two cages of girls? Nibbs and Rosie squeal at each other alot...but Violet and Cheeky don't even pay attention to each other. I am most likely to have problems with Nibbs and Rosie, based on the behaviour I am seeing w/them?

You can do intro's now, but you will have more success after about April.

Oh, ok. Well, I switched their cages out today for the first time (Rosie and Violet like the bigger digs, but Cheeky and Nibbs, Nibbs esp., seems not too happy.) I was told to let them stay that way at least overnight, but if I should wait, then should I just put them back in their original cages and let them just 'be' for now? Or should I keep switching them until April passes?

I would keep up with introductions. You don't want to stop and have to start all over x that is just my personal opinion - I haven't ever had to introduce Goo's but I would have thought that keeping up would be better than to just stop and try to start again only to have to start from the very beginning.

I just started today, so it isn't like they would go backwards, so to speak and their cages are side by side. Just thinking if they are more 'hormonal' right now, it may just be more stressful on them now, then it would be if I waited another month to let hormones die down a bit. What do you think?

Hmm, considering that then I'd go with your instincts and postpone the introductions until April. x

They are all girls (or I was told that, I am still trying to double check...but they are not cooperating! lol) Cheeky and Nibbs were 'boxing' (they are cagemates already) and I have seen Rosie and Violet doing it (they are also cagemates, as well.) Rosie and Violet are closer to three years, Cheeky and Nibbs are around 2 and a half years, so relatively close in age (None of the girls are actual 'sisters' but have been together their whole lives.) So, I left them in each others cages overnight, then switched them back today. I think I will keep switching them out and see how they do. The only thing they do (their cages are next to each other) is Nibbs really squeaks and squeals at at Rosie and Violet. Her cagemate, Cheeky, does not seem to pay any attention whatsoever to Rosie and Violet. I may see if I can get some audio of the noises Nibbs is making (can we put audio links up somehow?) Or a video clip w/sound? Thanks guys. I want them all to be happy and would LOVE if they were all together......

Rosie and Violet have never met Cheeky and Nibbs w/o the cage bars between them.
