Ok, so we have two boys, now 14 months old. In the past they have had a few arguments - not a lot and not really bad - they generally have a quick box then a couple of kung fu kicks and then some squeaking and 5 minutes later they are curled up asleep together. Last night they started to really fight - they ended up in the ball of death so we split them up and checked them both and no injuries, when we tried to put them back together they just kept doing the ball of death so rather than leave them like that overnight we split them up. Today we have been trying to get them back together but all that happens is one chases the other until eventually he turns and they are back in the ball of death and now we have a bloody paw and a bloody nose.
I think we did not help by splitting them up last night but we just could not leave them to fight all night. Since they are both entire males is it worth getting one neutered? Has anyone found this helpful in calming aggression? If there is a way to avoid this (and all the risks of anaesthetics) what can we do? This is not food aggression or clean cage aggression. For some reason Tequila just will not leave Tabasco alone, he chases and chases and will not stop!
Any ideas gratefully received

You did what you had to to, maybe split ur cage in two down the middle and let them be near each other but not have the ability to fight, it will calm down soon (hopefully) then introduce them in neutral Territory

thank you for setting my mind at ease! we've got them separated in the cage so they can still touch noses throught the bars and there is a lot of chirping going on but will take it slowly when trying to get them back together, having a look at degutopia they say that males often go really fruity in the first breeding season after puberty so hopefully that's all it is! neutering would be a last resort, would rather they can sort themselves out
