my degu has 5, 1 week old babies,we have in the last day been handling the babies to get them use to being handled,i was just wondering as I'm new to all this ( surprise babies ) how many weeks old do they have to be before i can tell what sex they are. i've tried to have a look but because there so tiny I'm finding it really hard to tell.any help would be really appreciated the babies are sooooooo cute ;D

I sexed Enigma's babies the day they were born, Allegra's I did in a week. They grow really quick though so just watch them and you will be able to tell soon enough

did you find it easy to tell what sex they are,I've read up and looked at pictures on it.someone said to me that it can be hard to tell the difference.

I didn't sex my babies until they were 4weeks, as I was keeping them all I wasn't really worried about what sex they were. I double checked their sex when I split them into seperate cages at 6 weeks. At 4 weeks it was pretty obvious but as I didn't look till then I don't know how easy it is when their really small.
