when my degu had unexcepected babys i read that i should take the wheel out incase any of the babys get hurt, well that was three days ago and since then my degu keeps chewing the bars of her cage. im still letting her out when she wants to but shes never done this before.should i put the wheel back in.

I never took my wheel out of the cage when the babies were small, they use to sit in it but no one got hurt from it. If your worried you could always put the wheel in for supervised times?

Yeah it'll probably be ok.. Supervised sounds like a good idea. When I had my original two as babies they'd fall off ledges and stuff all the time so even without a wheel they'll find a way to hurt themselves lol........

With my litters i did take the wheel out as with my first one the babies would be sitting on the wheel. Clyde would jump on run as fast as he can sending the flying. lucky enought i had a hammock right next to the wheel and 6they would land on this rather than hurt themselves
