Erm.. Allegra had her babies about a week ago, they are wandering around and climbing on everything. They have grown so much already! The thing is... Enigma is making a nest...She helped make a nest when Allegra was making hers, so I am wondering... would they still be making a nest for Allegra's babies or does this mean Enigma is pregnant too? Because she is making a very good nest. She has got bigger too but I thought that was due to her growing. I am just wondering as it would be nice to be prepared if more babies appear.

Interesting!! A good question too. Not sure how to answer it. So how about I ask you a few questions. How did you come to get Allegra and Enigma, and where from? How old were they? Were they housed with male goos? How long ago did you get them?

I have had them a month, I got them from pets at home adoption thingy, they had been taken in by someone who was now allergic or something. There were 4 taken in, 2 males and 2 females but when they went in they had been put in two carry cases each with a male and female in. As Enigma is Allegra's child, we think when they had the children they sexed the babies wrong putting Enigma in with her father and Allegra in with her son. Which is why a month after getting them Allegra now has 6 babies. They said the previous owners said they were all about a year old. Though obviously Enigma isn't the same age as Allegra, unless Allegra was tiny when she had her first babies. It is possible as Enigma is roughly the same size as Allegra.

Well!! I would have to say that there is a strong possibility that Enigma is indeed pregnant. What is frightening is that she is either pregnant by her father or her brother. I don't know what that may mean for healthy pups . . . you should be prepared that if she is pregnant, there may be deformities. As another new member experienced, if the deformities are severe enough, they may cause premature birth where some to all of them may die. If they are born looking well and healthy, they may yet have shorter lives with health issues. I may be wrong, but I think that those potentials would be less if she is pregnant by her father rather than her brother? ANYWAY . . . these are just possibilities.
If she is expecting, you will need to have a really good supply of food on hand. How large is your cage? They will quickly be growing and the space may all too quickly become too small for them. Do you have potential homes for any of the pups from Allegra? Do you have access to another cage for a few weeks down the line, when the pups are bigger? Allegra will be a huge help to Enigma, and vice vera, so I would keep them together.
You know that's kind of all I can think of at the moment . . . but please keep us up to date as to what looks to be happening, and ask any questions. There are such excellent helpers here, several of whom are VERY experienced with pups. Since our three have repeatedly displayed their masculinity, we are never going to be unexpectedly blessed by a sudden increase in pupulation. So I am not one of those, but I know those who are, are very willing to give a compassionate helping hand!

The girls are being moved into Houdini and Saphiras cage in a couple of weeks, I am splitting the big cage in half so the boys can have the cage they were born in. I am keeping Allegra's babies, I have room to do so. Allegra had babies by her son I believe, two of them weren't developed properly at birth but the other 6 are lively and active little things. Enigma if pregnant would be by her father.
I guess I shall wait and see, what happens. They will be in a bigger cage by the time Enigma has her babies if she is pregnant, and the cage is much more babyproof then the one they are in at the moment. I guess we shall just see what happens.

My sibling goos had 6 very healthy pups 3/25. I talked to a vet about inbreeding and the health of the pups...she didn't think it matters greatly. It seems that if your mama's nutrition is good and her stress level is as low as possible the babies should be born healthy. At least that was my experience. Hope all is well for you!

ye I took Allegra/Enigma and babies to the vets and was told basically the same thing that they should be fine and that Allegra's babies are really nice and healthy. Though he also told me there was no way to check if Enigma was pregnant so will just have to wait and see
