I was wondering if there are any specific signs to warn me that my degu mama is just days or hours away from giving birth??? Thanks!

I think I read from someone on this forum animals tend to give birth more often when alone like at night and such. I do sort of agree with it because when my guinea pig was pregnant (we bought her pregnant from the store not realising) we left her for breakfast and when we came back 15 minutes later there was 2 adorable babies being cleaned up by her side.
You might just need to make periodical checks on her every hour or so when she's near due? I guess time is the best indication of when she's close just like humans guess a birth date for their baby.

Nest building is the most common sign that a female is about to give birth. As soon as the birth is over the male will make a high pitched Eeek for about 15 minutes

I left a couple of notes on your other post. I noticed Mocha sleeping a great deal more. A day or two before giving birth she was cranky and bit me.
