Just wondering if you can handle baby goos when they are only a couple of days old or if the mum would abandon them because of the scent of you ??

I would say by four days of age you are good to go as far as handling them goes. They don't ever seem to be upset by the scent of their owners on the pups . . . maybe because they seem to view us as gigantic malformed naked degus? And you handling them will increase the friendly natures of the pups. Besides, they are just too cute not to handle. Be careful though . . . the pups are escape artists and can squeeze through the smallest of spaces . . . first of all usually being the bars of the cage. You will likely need to put some cardboard around the outside of the cage to prevent any mishaps.
