You mean, will be sold in pairs? As degus aren't supposed to be kept alone.

Hi Leelee, and welcome to the forum! You have quite a brood there! Two mothers and one father, sounds like both of your females had litters. Do you keep the mothers and father altogether? You are likely already aware of this, but I make a practice of telling members whose degus have had pups this information, so please bear with me , female degus are ready to concieve again immediately following the delivery of their litter. For that reason, we recommend that the male and female be separated, if remotely possible, before or during the delivery of the pups. This will prevent the second round of pups from coming, but this is something that catches a lot of owners. Particularly if they were unaware that what they thought to be a pair of same sex degus was actually male and female. This happens quite often, because many people in the pet store industry (even the occasional vet) don't know how to distinguish between the genders. Anyway, I am hoping you have them separated for your sake, and for the poor little girls as well. Litters back to back is so hard on them. I truly hope you are soon able to find homes for all your little ones!! They are so cute and busy when they are so little! Please feel free to contact me or anyone if you have questions of any sort.

Hi Leanne, sorry to learn that my two girls appear to be the only ones with a new home so far. It's just unfortunate that you live rather remote. I don't know how similar brothers, sisters and cousins usuay are but if my two are anything to go by, any new owners will have lots of fun and a few challenges . I hope you will soon find good homes for them but please make sure you only sell them as pairs unless they will join other goos. This forum is a great source of help and advice, of which I have already benefited a lot, and - as deguconvert wrote - questions are always welcome.

Oh . . . just so that you know . . . degus can go in larger same sex groupings than just pairs. So if you have someone come that wants more than two, feel completely confident in letting them take those, just so long as that will not leave you with only a single of one of the sexes.
