So im pretty sure one of my goo's is pregnant much to my mothers disgust as she is scared of them! lol
anyway when i bought them the pet shop hadnt sexed them, although they didnt say this i worked it out for myself. (They had 2 tiny tanks with 4 goos each in, which was very cramped, and when i asked the difference they said nothing but when they tried putting them all in a cage people complained) So feeling sorry for the degus i bought two, i would have had more but my mum was with me and insisted only on 2 lol ( I did keep check on them and if they didnt go i would have driven down to get the rest anyway) but they all went quite quickly.
So when i took my goos home they wouldnt let me touch them at all, possibly something to do with the pet shop not having a clue and telling me iots fine to pick them up by their tails . So after a while i managed to catch and sex them, being my first goos i wasnt 100% sure but i thought i had a male and female.
Obviously i knew this was bound to happen eventually but i couldnt split them up as that would leave them on their own. I thought about neutering but given a large vets bill for my horse i couldnt afford it and besides that i dont know where there would be a vet around me that knows about goos.
Perfect i though, some babies will allow me to split them and have company aswell
Now Squeak is getting very fat and im sure i felt some babies in her belly the other day XD
Its very exciting and i cant wait, however im worried as i have read about many instance of deaths of baby and mum
So after all that basically im wondering is there anything i can do to help mum? Is there anything special she needs?
I think they will be coming soon as last night she looked quite uncomfortable climbing and was quite restless.
I hope it all goes well XD but any advice will be greatly appreciated
thanks
