How often do people use the same dust for baths? Online sources only point at that the same dust can be used more than once, obviously removing any debris/poo etc after each use. I have been working on using the same dust for a week (roughly) based on a daily bath. Is this what most people do?

My guys like to vigorously roll around in the dust and I'm lucky if it lasts a week usually, but my general rule of thumb is to store the old dust (for emergencies) and replace it only when it needs it...when all that is left of the dust is the big bits and isn't much use to the degus. Saying that though, the dust also doesn't last that long because it goes through multiple cages each time

I can't speak as an expert but that's what I try to get out of mine. Trouble is mine like to wee in it upon exit so that means it goes in the bin. If we avoid that I sieve it and reuse it. I get the p@h sand and it's not a bad price for a fairly decent size bag, usually £3.99 I think. :-)

fairly lucky on that side, I only have 2 who only spend about a min (max) rolling around in it each time.

If price was a problem (partly is for me, I plan to buy bulk soon), you can get sepolita (which is basically what chinchilla sand is) on ebay fairly cheaply, and a hell of a lot cheaper than P@H's price...it works out a lot cheaper, in fact... cgi.ebay.co.uk/Chinchilla-Sand-Bath-Dust-20kg-Sepolita-Best-Quality-/140413207615 is £11.79 with £5.95 delivery (and I can confirm the seller will package up to 30KG of items up with it if you ask and it all fits into the £5.95 delivery cost...they have lots of degu stuff too :-)) so a little under £18 for 20kg while P@H sells 3kg for £3.99 so that's 21kg for £27.93

That's a good bargain, I currently use the 3kg bags from P@H
