Hey guys, my Degus wee on me, a lot, it's fine though, I don't mind. However, recently, it's stained white which it has never done before. Is it what I think it is and normal or is something wrong with them and I need to get them checked out?

Like Smux said it sounds like calcium deposits.

Our boys wee on me all the time and they frequently leave white stains. Our water has high mineral content in it, and I am sure that is the reason for it. It certainly hasn't hurt them, and only hurts my pride if I forget that I have been stained by wee and go out in public. "EWWWWW!!! What is all over your shirt?!?" RIGHT!! I try not to let the boys run all over me is I know I am planning to be out and about. I also notice that every once in a while one of them will have exceptionally strongly smelling urine, and this us usually when they seem to think I need aggressive marking, or when they think one of the others is trying to claim me. I've come to believe that they have a musk sack connected to their cone and it can be used on demand. BOY CAN IT STINK!! Otherwise they have relatively odorless urine. (That leaves white stains)

Thanks for the comments, I gave them water that had been left out over night and it seemed to work, I've just given them some water straight from the tap to see if the white marks come back. Other then that, it's worked a treat. Thanks again
