Indeed ^___^ Trying to get her to just stay down the bottom til she is a bit better. She is carrying her back legs a bit funny still so just keeping an eye on her and keeping her out of mischief as much as possible.
Such a relief to see her eat earlier! And come to the bars to say hello ^_______^

aww sorry to hear thai isnt feeling too good im really hoping she feels better very soon!!! i know only too well that degus go into to shock very easily and that it can last a while.. last week i cleaned my twos cage and the next day they had a massive fight, ive never seen anything like this before with them.. chocs bit chips ear and scratched his head pretty badly, i rushed in to stop them and they both went in different directions and literally fell on their sides breathing deeply, it looked as though they were both dying.. i let them sleep which they did for most of the day, one at the top of the cage and the other at the bottom. that evening they decided that they did infact still love eachother and began to groom and snuggle again (phew!!) it took them a good couple of days to eat properly again, only now they are back to being their naughty little selfs again...lol i was so scared, especially after nursing my eldest dog after an operation..bleeding animals aye..........they are ment to cause us stress im sure fingers crossed for a swift recovery, im sure thai will be ok but if youre still worried i really would suggest a visit to the vets, i know they cost money but sometimes its worth it, just for the peice of mind sometimes! **hugs**

Hugs back =)
Glad to hear Choc and Chips still love each other after that little tiff!
Thai seems fine in herself, taking food, moving around, reacting to noises. Her squeaks (when something scares her) are a little pathetic and shes not walking properly (upload some vids later) but if she is sat still, undisturbed she is as happy as normal =) She made herself comfortable on my old comfort blanket (that still gets deployed when my partner is away for a long time, army....) and stayed there on my bed for a good half hour last night so can climb and get about but is a little stiff.
Shes improving by the day though!

Picture /video updates: Yesterday Goo Kisses =) Thai eating Today: Wandering around, itching, taking food =) As you can see, she is definitely getting slowly back to normal, just maybe with some damage to her left back leg, but she is able to scratch herself and jump onto my bed. *Considers changing the thread title if she can*

shame the vid with her moving about is a bit dark, but at least it shows she can move about fairly quick still. I agree her back left leg or hip definitely looks odd with the depression in front of it, I'd get it looked at by a vet, if it's dislocated it could be put back in.

Yeah, all the lights were on and it still recorded dark =S No idea why...
I'll see how she goes with it as its looking a lot better compared to monday night. The depression is also seen on the right side, and she is able to use both legs for scratching her head and sides and for jumping from. If it were dislocated she wouldn't be able to do any of that if their skeletons are anything like ours or most other animals.
Will keep an eye =)

I think Louwra meant that was her last post on the forum as a whole rather than just this thread =S But I'm not saying anymore on the subject, what works for some people may not work for others, I made the decision which bits of advice to follow and which to ignore. Each to their own and that.
I second the possible spine injury, though am taking it as maybe the lesser end (so to speak) as she is getting stronger and looking better day by day. I have moved things around in their cage and there is nowhere she could have a major fall from in there. Soft things have been put below higher areas in my room that I know she can get to as well as a just in case as she is back to her usual tricks of trying to get out of the cage for a run around whenever the bottom door is open (they normally only get let out if they come onto my hands from the top door, but am letting Thai off that rule for the time being in case she jumps o.o)
Will keep an eye on things and try and keep her as calm as possible for as long as it takes (if its a lifetime then its a lifetime and hopefully if I have to move again I can find somewhere where I can take them along rather than having to rehome), keeping the heat pad warm for as much of the day as possible.
Thanks again Smux =)

oooooooooooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..........i was waiting for something to kick off, its almost as bad as watching a degu fight...........lol joking aside........ glad to hear your little one looks to be getting stronger, she certainly has a sparkle in her eye so hopefully whatever the problem is, it isnt giving her too much pain?! just do as youve been doing, keep a good eye on her although i must admit, i think i would like the vet to just give her a little check over although, im sure the vet wouldnt do too much seeing as she is moving, eating etc.. talking of vets............im off to the vets this afternoon, gotta take biccy and tanzy (our dogs) for check ups and to possibly get tanzy´s stitches taken out? a visit to the vets seems to be a weekly occurrence just lately for us.........lol as for choc and chips..........lol they are fine although poor chips has a chunk out of his ear due to chocs but its all healed up now, just looks a bit strange...lol bless him, chips is a bit chippy ;D **more hugs and goo kisses for thai**

Don't want to take her to the vets..... She will only maul me and the vert and anyone else in the building, stress her out, Dega will do a runner, and we might do more damage to Thai trying to keep her still o.o More negative reasons than positives methinks for a check so not going. Will just keep an eye on her and see what happens.
Good luck with the dogs! Hope all goes well with their check up =) And at least the goos are easier to tell apart now XP ((Trying to find a positive o.o)) Though Chips probably looks like a pirate now lol

Don't want to sound childish but louwra just got owned. Hope Thai is feeling better and hope she recovers well! If it was me I would have taken Thai to the vet at the start but at this point it may be a dead end, if she is recovering there may be no point and yes if her legs were dislocated she wouldn't be able to move them at all (Well i think so anyway..)
Good luck!

Thats not very nice =S Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and she disagreed with other peoples harsher comments and ideas.... She should not be "owned" for that.
Thai is back to her mischievious self! She was helping Dega steal various pieces of what I was doing last night while they were out! Pencil... Clay moulding tool.... Small pieces of wood.... Kitchen roll..... Funny little monkeys =)
She is moving better now, the depressions on her hips are less now as well, and while she looks a little thin, she looks much better =)

Leave it alone Smux....... Most people make statements they believe to be true but without factual evidence, think its a human trait. Best example I can think of: some church of England schools call kids liars when they bring in fossils to school and say they are over 100million years old because they still believe the Earth is the age worked out by using the bible (no more than a couple hundred thousand years worked out by following the family trees of the people in the bible back to the beginning of "time" if memory serves, but can't remember the exact date)........
Yes that did happen to one of the guys at work son who took in a fossil of a known age from the clay pit at one of our sites =S That school's opinion is that Earth can't possibly be millions of years old as the dates in the bible don't add to that old, so the kids father was a liar, even though we have factual evidence now that the Earth is some 4billion years old, some people still won't accept it and while most others think they are stupid, they are entitled to their own opinion.
You left the forum once too after a disagreement rather than keep fighting it out =( Her opinions are as valid as everyone elses, regardless of whether they were childish or not.
End of =(
Thank you blossombrooks =) Is brilliant to see her close to being back to her normal self! Wish my thumb were getting better as quickly XP Where she bit me is fine, its the bone below that and the joint where my thumb goes into my hand... Feeling bruised even though am quite sure nothing happened to that part! =( Will look into tetnus stuff tomorrow just in case.

Lets not forget she is in animal medicine as a profession, guys! She has earned the right through lots of training and practice to be more pointed. Lets not be jumping on her, please.
And Smux . . . I have read quite a few posts by you that boarder on preaching certain things as fact rather than opinion.

Just thought this might interest peoples! =) Proves my point perfectly that different people have different opinions regardless of facts. "Beginning with the archeological landmark event of the fall of Jerusalem (which has now been corrected to 588 B.C., instead of 586-587 B.C.) and counting backwards the prophesied number of years between this event and the division of Solomon's kingdom (390 yrs. + 40 yrs., according to Ezekiel 4:4-7), brings us to 1018 B.C. From the end of Solomon's 40-year reign to the start of the Temple in the 4th year of his reign takes us back another 37 years to 1055 B.C. From the start of Solomon's Temple "in the 480th year" (1 Kings 6:1) back to the Exodus from Egypt (hence 479 years previous) brings us to near 1534 B.C. From the Exodus out of Egypt to Abraham's entering Canaan from Haran was exactly 430 years to the day (Gen 12:10/ Exodus 12:40/ Gal 3:17), thus around 1964 B.C. Since Abraham entered Canaan at age 75 (Gen 12:4), he was born approximately 2039 B.C. From Abraham's birth to Noah's grandson (Shem's son), Arpachshad's birth, 2 years after the Flood started, was 290 years (Gen 11:11-26), this places the onset of the Flood at around 2331 B.C. [definitely 4,300-4,400 years ago]. The genealogy of Genesis 5:3-32 precludes any gaps due to its tight chronological structure and gives us 1,656 years between Creation and the Flood, thus bringing Creation Week back to near 3987 B.C. or approximately 4000 B.C. Therefore, the biblical age of the Earth (using Scripture itself as a guide) is 6,000 years !! Mankind did not evolve 4 million years ago on an Earth which is 4.5 billion years old in a universe which was "big-banged" into existence 18-20 billion years in the distant past. Jesus Christ, the Creator Incarnate, said He made mankind male and female in the beginning (Mark 10:6), and that when the heavens and the earth were commanded into being (Gen 1:1), they "stood up together" (Isa 48:13) not billions of years apart !! www.creationevidence.org"

Jaiye . . . so VERY glad to hear that Thai is feeling much more like herself! I had to laugh when I read about their theiving exploits! Our three boys love to do the same thing, and if it is something you happen to be using at the time, it seems to increase the value of it in their eyes too. They are so funny!

Ditto ^____^ Still haven't managed to find the spatula thingy and it was the best one for the stuff I was using tools for......... Little horrors are like magpies! But rather than just shiny things it seems to have a thought process behind it...
Thai - "hey... If we steal that thingy she has over there then she might give us more treats to get it back from us..."
Dega - "Or maybe she spends so much time with it because it is really tasty and she doesn't want to share... I think we should teach her the principle of sharing goo-style!"
Thai - "You mean the principle where we get whatever she is using and we give her poos and the run around at bedtime?"
Dega - "Thats the one!"
Thai - "Lets get the thingy!!!! I'll distract her by trying to steal the kitchen roll while you steal the thingy..."
*Organised mayhem ensues*

I wasn't trying to get people started on biblical discrepancies =S It was merely the best example that I could think to say that some people believe things regardless of fact and are entitled to believe / think what they want. The quote was meant to highlight how the biblical peoples came to their Earth age date... I do not know enough about the bible to say whether the statement was true or not, it was meant to highlight HOW they got their "proof" for their Earth age.
Drop it.

God made the world then got bored and wrote a book about it intentionally putting errors and inconsistancies in it, has a serious sense of humor issue if you ask me. I can imagine the thought process went something like this... "I'll make a planet and create life, then i'll confuse them by placing objects on it that they'll find eventually that cannot possibly be real as they are actually older than the planet. OH i know i'll write a few books and make sure one from each area of the world gets one of each which are full of plot holes and inconsistancies, OH and better yet dont really agree with each other on core issues. That should give me a few hundred thousand years of amusement." He/She is blatantly just taking the pee out of all of us equally. Religion is basically good but everyone has their own take on it which rarely agree. I think my take on life is better but thats my opinion - Cant be one god, must be a race, they have to be sadistic to allow the crap to continue and to be honest we are our own worst enemy so why would they feel the need. I know alot of you guys are religious and thats perfectly fine with me, sometimes i'm jealous but everyone has the right to believe what they will. Lets all have a fluffy moment
