HELLO!!! I've not been on as consistently as usual the last two months (now that school will be starting I'm sure that will change and improve) so I missed your opening post. It's good to meet you! Sounds like you've been struck by degu love. As have we. LOL! They are such interesting little characters, aren't they? I hope you will find yourself falling more in love with them as time goes. They are greatly loved in my home. Welcome to the forum!
Please feel free to ask any and all questions that you may have. Degus are famous for doing weird stuff. LOL!

Welcome to the world of degus! It seems like you have been bitten by the degu love bug too. I was smitten with mine after about 5 minutes watching them run around in their cage doing all cute degu things ;D! I'd never had any 'rodent' type pets before but couldn't stop thinking about them after I first saw them in P@H and sure enough a couple of weeks later I collected our first pair.
Have you thought of a name for the third one yet? I named ours after some of our family members, Dave - my Dad, Jim - my boyfriend's Dad, Nige - my boyfeind's step-Dad and Stan my Grandad. They all seem to suit their names quite well really, I'm still amazed by how different all their personalities are.
I love your 'womans' comment about co-owning them, it's kind of the same in our house, they are my degus but my OH seems to think they are his now too, especially as he paid for the new pair. I still maintain that they are all mine, mwahahaha!

Psst!! Umm . . . co-owner spouse? Once you have the goolings more hand trained . . . try feeding them sunny seeds still in the shell from your mouth (keeping the seeds protruding WELL past your lips). It's a lot of fun, and the goos will give you little kisses (gentle exploratory nudges) as they look for more to come. But don't say I said anything. Lips sealed! (Well behind the sunny seeds)

LOL! Sounds like a good time was had by all!! Well, if you keep it up, you'll eventually (even sooner) have three boys that check out your mouth every time they come to you, just in the off chance that something nummy is hiding in there. ;D And though I may be nuts to think it, I just think the feeling of their soft little faces and noses nuzzling my lips for a treat feels so nice! Of course there are times when they feel a little more impatient and try to pry my lips apart with their little paws. LOL!! I do usually end up laughing and then going to fetch some seeds to treat them with. They know their way around my stern, unbudging resolve. (HA HA) I'm a noodle, I know it.
