I AM NOW THE PROUD MUM TO 3 BABY GIRLS LUCY,GEORGIE AND SKYE.(AT LEAST I THINK THEY ARE GIRLS,THAT'S WHAT THE PET SHOP OWNER SAID THEY WERE)I HAVE HAD THEM THREE WEEKS NOW.THEY HAVE STARTED GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF MATING,IS THIS NORMAL.OR COULD ONE OF THEM BE MALE?

Humping is normal for degus regardless of gender and is a sign of dominance over the other degu.
Stores are rubbish at sexing though so you may want to sex them yourself. Both genders have a "sticky out bit" the urethral cone.

Sexing is harder in degu you may want to try yourself or take them to a vet who knows about small animals. Petstores are useless at sexing animals I had to sex a rabbit once cause they couldn't do it, humping like alot of animals is a dominance thing to see who will be the boss it's perfectly normal.
