My friend has got a part time job as a science teacher substitute, her job title is actually "mad scientist" LOL!. She's already in uni studying primary school teaching so it's helping her quite a bit and she loves it!! She rang me the other day to tell me one of the kids had said to her "Miss Gray, you're the best mad scientist ever" - bless I never thought about the differences in make-up, but looking back no wonder I was gawped at in Canada last time I was over there! I usually wear two colours, like; pink & blue, white & black, green & yellow, orange & green etc and heavy eye liner & people in shops n stuff used to stare at me :s I thought it was because of my accent though LOL!. Kimberley go for it!! If you don't like it then it only take a wipe with a make up remover or a baby wipe to get it off again Aww exile I bet you are itching to get better! My friend Kristian who I met through working for DIP/DRR is trying to get into youth offenders and younger substance misusers because he feels it'll be more rewarding rather than working with older people who, frankly don't want to change their ways [most of them anyway]. oOoOo Kerry when do you start your new job? My uncle in Canada teaches kids with behaviour problems, has done for around 10 years now! Mel, have you got any pictures on photobucket or another site like that of you? YOu could transfer it over from there... s'how how did it

i only use mac make up and i have blue eyes.
I use MAC pigment which is like £15 a ub but it lasts for ages, doesnt budge and comes in a multitude of colours from bright, to metallic, to pastels to subtle. I dip my brush into vaseline and then into the pigment and then bush acorss my eyelid, like i would with liquid eyeliner and i find that it looks good without being super over powering like covering your whole eyelid does.
I use, purples, metallic blues, silvers, golds, and teal green, i find that for blue eyes these colours are a no no
red, orange, yellow, etc i also hate pinks, browns, it makes me look ill

I used to go to Canterbury shopping all the time. its nice there. but so busy.
I lived in Kent for like a year and a half but me and my boyfriend split so i moved away cos Medway it such a rough place.

Kimberley, I just read your post properly, what did you think I'd look like?
Mel your hair looks ace on that picture!! ;D You kinda look like my friend Loz on that pic, but I think that's mainly because of the big sunglasses. Where do you get mac make up from because I wouldn't mind some eyeshadows I won't have to keep re-applying throught the day

I get them from Harvey Nicholls in Leeds. I find they stay on better when mixed with vaseline and plus is brings the colours out ten times better like.
I spent £250 on 7 items of MAC make up last weekend haha.

I'm just curious, Mel. How did you discover that vaseline would improve the makeup for durability and color?

haha basically every time i do my make up for my lips i mix a tiny bit of foundation into some vaseline and put on my lips and it mixes well and doesnt go cracked and yucky on my lips like it does if u just put foundation straight on ur lips (to make them look paler) cos the vaseline moisturises.
then when i was putting my eyeshadow on, i HATE it when the powder comes off the brush and falls on ur cheek and then smudges in, and like i get my skin looking perfect before i do my eyes and it proper annoyes me, so i though hmm il dab the brush into some vaseline and then into the powder so it becomes "sticky" and then put it on my eyes, sure enough it went on easier and more in a direct line along my eye lids, the powder didnt fall off onto my face and the eyeshadow stayed put all day, and made the colour look more "out there".

£250? ? I think I might stay with 17 stuffs for a while :s:$ can't really afford that right now LOL!. Might see if someone will get me a colour or two for my birthday ahaha What type of foundation do you use is it liquid or is that powder too? Cos mines liquid. But I know what you mean about getting your eyeshadow powder on your face after you've just put on your foundation - it annoys the hell out of me when I've got a pink cheek grrrrr

I use MAC liquid foundation, its about £30-£35 quid and i also use MAC studio fix powder thats like £25-£30.
I cant use boots/superdrug foundations as they leave an orangey colour on my face, i need one thats really pale.
the pigments are £15 for a pot but they last FOREVER so its money well spent.

Mell . . . you may not be able to answer this question. but I'll try it out anyway. I seem to have an allergic reation to powdered eye makeup, especially since it will filter down into my eyes when I'm putting on and then throughout the day. Does the vaseline reduce enough to maybe remove that allergy reaction? How much vaseling? Clump on the brush, or just the tips of the brush, or in between?
Very cool makeup tip, Mel!!
I don't wear makeup very often . . . due to the allergic reaction, but also because of some limitations resulting from a car accident years ago. Putting on makeup was really painful for a long time. I got used to having a bald face. LOL!
