I have four 16 week old degus. I have since we got them been feeding them approx 10g each of the Pets at Home Degu nuggets, and they've seemed happy with that. Every morning I feed them a total of 40 g. But yesterday I read on the packet and it said feed between 15-25g of food pr. adult degu. They are far from adults yet, but the amount of food I've been following is Degutopia's guideline for adult degus, too. So my real question here is, should I increase amout of food? Even if it lasts them all day? Could it be that the pets at home degu nuggests arent as good as other brands and thats why they reccomend 15-25 g? They ofc have free access to hay and also gets fed the correct vegetables twice a week. We have only tried this one type of food, mainly because of the price. Has anyone had any different experience with "experimenting" with other types of degu foods? Thanks Friva

I would keep it at 10g of food as you said they have access to hay they should be fine, as to experimenting only do so when you have run out of degu nuggets as we found out ours prefer the gerty guinea and now refuse to eat the degu nuggets :/ they are fussy little beggers lol

Alright, will do. It just had me a little worried when I read on the pack, and I was feeding them less than the pack said lol. Just weighed them and in two weeks they have all gained between 3-10g each. Which I think is a fair weight considering they are growing still.
