MY sister was at a pet food warehouse the other day and picked my up some Gerty Guinea (http://www.degutopia.co.uk/degufeedggpig.htm) and they've gone absolutely berserk for it. I guess the P@H nuggets really aren't that tasty for the girls after all.
I'd highly recommend it for a bit of a change to your goos don't get too bored with the same food.

Yeah, I think I'm going to use up all my P@H nuggets (I got a load free) and then start them on something else, they just arent exciting enough. I might get the xtravital next time, and perhaps some gerty guinea for treats.

Just don't introduce something new til the nuggets are all gone!!! Once the little goos know there is something better on offer, they'll refuse to eat the nuggets! XP

XP LOL I bought some gertie and mixed it with xtravital, PAH nuggets and science selective - the xtravital and gertie always go first but I just refuse the refill the bowl until they eat most of the nuggets - they aren't happy about it when all that is left is nuggets but they do eat them. I will probably just use the xtravital and gertie once the nuggets are gone.

Only only gave them two servings of Gerty over the weekend and the P@H pellets are a lot less popular now. Fussy little furballs. lol

Mine rebelled over the nuggets before I was even considering changing the food. Little so-and-so's just refused to eat them! Forced to move onto xtravital, which they adore, as well as science selective. They go mad over that as well, although I give them one science selective a day as it's expensive.

Mine would have rather starve than even look at the degu nuggets. They're much happier with xtravital

Mine would have rather starve than even look at the degu nuggets. They're much happier with xtravital Yeah, that's what mine did. I was really happy with the nuggets as I knew it meant there would be no selective eating. Plus I supplemented the nuggets with other food like dried herbs and flowers, leaves, herbal delight, etc. So it wasn't just the nuggets. And for a long time they were happy with that. Then one day they went on strike against the nuggets! So, anybody want half a bag of P@H nuggets!

It's strange, mine all really quite like their nuggets. I ran out so had been giving them xtravital and some other mixes from zooplus that I give them occasionally, but when I gave them their nuggets this morning they were all raring to get at them and sat their munching away for ages.

I started on Gerty Guinea and switched to nuggets a year or so later to avoid selective eating. I think Gerty is only great if they eat every piece. Mine picked up to the nuggets straight away. Naturally they will go for their treats first but humans do this also with a meal. I personally leave the best part of my meal for last and my boyfriend eats the best thing first. Mine always get a mini shredded wheat too and they always go for them first but do eat all the nuggets over the course of the day.

LOL! I prefer to eat the best last as well, Emz. I gives me something to look forward to. A trick I learned as a kid when there were so many things I didn't like. Wish my son would pick up on it, but no . . . he eats what he likes first, and then steadfastly ignores and refuses to eat the rest. IF I would let him eat dessert first . . . LOL!! . . . I'd never get another veggie or piece of meat in him again!
