Hey guys, I just need to ask a quick question... well maybe two. I currently have Beaphar XtraVital Degu Food and the Pets at Home degu nuggets mixed together (with another food but that's not necessary information) and I give them their food twice a day.. but I've noticed that every time I change the food they always leave a certain piece of it.. It's the small light brown twig like things.. they always fall to the bottom of the pack in case you are a bit confused. About 1cm long and very thin. Anyway my questions, is it OK for them to leave it and if you use the same food do yours leave it? Thanks

The degu nuggets on their own provide enough for what they need and will probably compensate for the one little thing they dislike. The hay is the more important part of their diet anyway so as long as they're eating enough of that it's fine.

Mine always leave those bits in the Xtra Vital. They'll eat them if they get hungry enough.

Mine were leaving them so often that I have taken to removing them before feeding...there's a little bit of it in the food but I got most of it out. As Emz said, they get supplements elsewhere to make up for it :-)

Mario likes to eat them when I go to take the bowls out of the cage, or if I've left them in there because he was still eating and it's near bed time he has to have a snack of them.
All my other boys ignore them and will only eat them once nothing else is left. It's not too bad if they don't eat them.

My goos have an order of favourite 1. red blobs 2. flat peas 3. Grey biscuits 4. brown chunks 5. yellow flakes 6. tiny seeds
but they always leave the rest. the green blobs and the brown sticky things they just dont like!
