I think it should be great for them . . . just give it in moderation though. Too much fresh green, as you know, can cause bloat and/or diahrea or very soft stools in degus. Neither are good for them. So, limit the amount you give them each week.

Hi, I found this list and found it useful.so far my degu nutmet has eatten brocoli, cauliflower, carrot, sweet potatoe (without the skin as i have read the skin can be toxic),apple and also loves sunflower seeds and the hazlenut i gave her yesterday. The hazlenut did also bring a smile on my face watching her trying to get into it. i hope this helps www.degutopia.co.uk/deguveg.htm

Found readigrass at my local petshop, the girls love it!! It's actually causing more squabbles than oats! It looks so nice and good for them too. Hope it contributes more towards their 'green' quota as mine also aren't keen on the ol' veggies. They do like p@h dried broccoli tho. nicky- how much have you ended up giving them? Are you feeding it to them like hay or less than that? I'm just sprinkling a small handful around the cage. :-)

Mine will rip your finger of as they tear a green bean from your hand! lol Two also really like sweet potato (the other two won't touch it), they love all kinds of herbs, carrots (shaved only), dandelion, (I actually put a small amount of spring mix mixed greens, and they like that, but not every day). But without a doubt, green beans are their fav!!!

Mine wont eat fresh stuff... we've tried all sorts on them and they just wont go for it! But whenever we scrunch a bag of carrot sticks from the pet shop they're straight up to the door wondering what you've got for them!
