I also remember someone had this issue with a degu that had fur wrapped around the base of the cone inside the sheath, so it may also be worth checking that there is no debris in the sheath when the vets have a look

It started after he had knicked his self after cleaning which got infected.. Vet cleaned it up and he seamed ok for a few weeks. Then it prolapsed properly n 4 times since then. Twice now since sat!! But it has only come out about 5mm and yesterday just the tip came out, after the vet visit, which she never charged me for. So i bathed it and put more petroleum jelley on. It didn't seam to bother him too much. Ive checked him this morning n everything is ok. But yes it all started with a knick injury in January this year. His cone does look a bit bulbous n not a thin tube like zigs so its obviously not gone back properly but he is a happy lil goo otherwise. Loves jumping n running about. After reading what people have put about castration i dont think i want to put him through that at all now

I think it's worth talking to your vet about some oral antibiotics and/or an antibiotic cream like I mentioned yesterday. It sounds like there might be some infection or swelling at the injury site, so it would good to try to treat this root cause, rather than just lubricating the penis each time.
Castration isn't usually effective for reducing aggression, it is sometimes useful so that a boy can be introduced to girls when previous partnerships with other boys have failed.
