It can be a very slow process.... or a very easy one! I have degus who still aren't 100% tame and others that are.
You could try some of these treats....
Dry porridge oats (just like what you have for breakfast). You can feed them these the most out of all the treats really. They're ok in large-ish quantaties. Feed them dry and straight out of the packets. Just get the plain ones though and check the sugar content as degus can't have sugar. Maybe Quaker's Oats?
Shreddies (also like what you have for breakfast).... feed them dry and only one now and then. To be honest, mine get a shreddie every other day.
Millet Spray - the stuff that birds have. They're like long, light brown.... hmmm.... how to explain it? If you go into a pet shop, they'll have them. Just ask. These can be very fattening though. I give mine about a quater of one once every week/two weeks.
Wallnuts - again, not very often as they're fattening. You can buy them from any supermarket in little packets.
Sunflower seeds - again, fattening.
Woodlands herbal delight that you can from pet shops is a good one too. Very small amounts scattered on the floor of their cage will keep them busy searching for it!
Find out which treat they love the most and use it as a bribe! lol. If they come to you.... they get the treat, if they don't, they don't.
If you feed them vegeables (check on this site which ones you can give them) feed them in SMALL amounts too and dry them before you feed them. Put them in oven (the veges, not the degus.... haha!).... on the lowest heat the oven has and leave them for an hour or so until all the moisture is gone and they are dry. You do this to avoid 'bloat'. Every now and then you can feed them the fresh stuff without drying it. The same applies to any leaves of branches you might give them (again) there's a list on here of what's safe.
Don't worry too much if your degus won't eat their greens. Mine still won't and never have! lol.
This is just a small amount of the treats they can have. These are the main ones that mine get though. I try to give them one of these things everyday in very small amounts.
There's a thred on here called 'treats and other edibles for you degu', which you might find handy
