That would be good! I believe they have something similar on the degu section - maybe that would be helpful?

I received the aubichick I ordered a few days ago - peanut picked a clump up and immediately dropped it, so I think it’s safe to say that it doesn’t taste nice

I cleaned out the chinchilla and degu cage yesterday, putting albichick in both. The degus have a tendency to kick the substrate out of their cage but I’m happy to report, despite not having guards on either cage there has been very little mess! I would definitely recommend albichick

I'm shocked! Reason I didn't go for hemp was it just looked too light and both my chins and degus like to deliberately kick the bedding out the cage!
Will probably switch to hemp when the new cage gets built but for now large shavings are working as well as can be expected as it only comes out when the door is open.
On a different note, I've heard reports that the puppy pads work well under the fleece and they aren't having issues with Nibbles having a damp bum anymore.

I have vivs with glass fronts and the hemp chip stuff still gets kicked out everywhere. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IT lol. Also when it comes to the time where I do bedding changes (I do 95% bedding changes, my goos don’t fight, it works for me, don’t hate lol) you should see the explosion of hemp chips that occurs. Scooping 5 inches thick of hemp out of four huge two levelled vivs is hard enough, getting it all in the bin bag - even harder. Lifting a 15kg bale of hemp chips, whilst cutting it open, stabbing at it to get areas loose then getting it in four vivs is even harder lol. Let’s just say the Henry takes a bashing. I do love it as a bedding though.

My first chinnie used to pick up his bedding with his mouth and front paws and throw it out trough the bars... Little crap. 😂

I am lucky with my chinchillas, they tend to leave the substrate alone (apart from peanut eating it) the only way it comes out of the cage is when they jump around. The degus arnt too messy, they tend to throw anything they don’t like out of the cage, and I am pretty sure they hated the wood shavings I’ve noticed today they have kicked some of the hemp towards the back of the cage, but they are in an alcove so I can’t see how much has fallen out! And wow Emily, sounds like you have your hands full there! (Quite literally )

Little crap. 😂 I was behind the cage fitting some new shelves the other week and Benji deliberately swiped a load of bedding out of the cage and onto on my head! It's always the ones that look like butter wouldn't melt

natnat899 , I've completely given up and have just accepted that there will be poops, woodshavings and the errant bit of hay or forage dragged around the entire house. I can vacuum thoroughly and 5 seconds later it's somehow halfway up the stairs my lot are something else altogether! Apparently Benj and Giz have decided their food bowls make good litter trays too

Yes, it’s the same here! They see I’m cleaning and kick bits out (facepalm) or the degus will pull my hair through the bars of the cage And it always makes me wonder when they pee in their food bowls.. do they eat the soggy food after?

Make sure fleece is changed every 2 days to prevent wet spots. Towels work best under fleece because they don't have chemicals like most puppy pads. Make sure to have a non paper pellet anything paper can swell in chinchillas stomachs. Nonscented baby wipes can clean her up. Fleece pee pads can help with potty training

I presume they've done the reading on using fleece as bedding. As I've said many times in this thread, it's not my choice in bedding.
As for the paper pellets, I don't think any of us use pellets as bedding of any kind.
