Oh and I am fine Since last being on here I moved into a flat on my own, got a new job, rescued some guinea pigs (one died and I recently got a neutered male for my remaining girl) So basically I live alone but with 6 pets in a one bed flat. Somehow it works out well though!! I hope you're all ok too?? What have I missed? Living my dream lol I'd have even more though 😂

How big is the de gloved part? LaBarbara bled lots, but I think she just had a larger blood vessel right near the edge of the injury. Even though she bled lots, she's fully healed now with minimal support from us.
Sort of like rambam had happen to her, the last few milimeters of the dry white part (cartilage? bone?) took much longer to come off than the rest. A week or two ago I noticed that LaBarbara had a little more blood there again, but shortly after that the white part got chewed off and now it is just fully healed tail back there. I don't know which is more normal, rambam's year for the last bit to come off or LaBarbara's being fully off in about a month, but both of us seem to have the same experience of most of it dried and came off, but the last bit took a little longer and there was some more blood when the last bit was on the way out.
It is so scary when it happens though. Try to follow Garf's lead.

Yeah it's very scary and hard to look at. I can give him strokes but I can't bare to try hold him at this point because I don't want that bone to touch me 😫 is it bad to think like that? I feel that he's embarrassed by it too. Poor boy

I felt the same way! It looked creepy to me. And I made an assumption that it would be painful to touch. I couldn't tell how much actual pain LaBarbara was in. She hid a great deal, which could mean pain, but I think she was also just feeling vulnerable. Plus I think that the salt wash was traumatic for her. When I bathed her tail, I did the burrito and she initially fought, but after a few minutes she stopped fighting so much that I thought that she was going into shock.
Personally I don't think degus are capable of embarrassment. Considering all the humping, self pleasuring, and eating their own poop, I just don't think they feel that. Not to mention all the "graceful" moments I have caught when they miss a jump of some kind.
Try to be patient, another day or so and you'll see Garf is acting like he always is. You wouldn't even know it happened except for his tail healing.

Yeah, good point about the embarrassment lol. I just want this bone to dry up and drop off asap. I think the stumpy tails are cute so I'm not worried about that but I'm just dreading this healing phase

Aw, don't let my experience worry you, usually they have no problem when their tail is degloved, they just get on with it. Mine took a couple weeks to get rid of the majority but I think we've realised that she's not so bright... While she was chewing it she was chewing it all over, not just at the bottom and it looked more like a frayed twig! Not nice to see initially and it scared me when i saw it but she was fine. It happened when I was coming back from holiday and my neighbour was looking after them all. She let them out and Rose got scared and ran away from her and caught it inbetween a loose panel at the back of my drawers, I didn't know it was loose but they had been chewing at it I realised after. My neighbour even kept the tail in a match box for me... very weird!
There wasn't much blood though no and in answer to your question it's about half her tail that is missing.
I'm hoping now that she has got rid of the bone it will heal better and she'll leave it alone! I'm checking it every day just to make sure it doesn't get infected.
