Thanks everyone he's finally having a rest on his snugglepad now. The label on his meds say to be given tonight but not sure when he was last given them so waiting back on a call from the vets to confirm. Wish me luck syringe feeding these 3 meds!!! 😩 They are; - Loxicom pain relief - Zantac gut stimulant - Metronidazole antibiotic Dreading this 😳

You will manage it! Will somebody be around to help? If possible, I think it help if one person does the holding and one the syringing until you get the hang of it. Get everything ready in advance, prefill the syringes. I tend to put some water in a final syringe to wash everything down.
Don't forget to offer some hard food to encourage him to get back to normal.

It's all done phew. What a wriggler! My partner held him and boy he kicked his legs out like a kangaroo and got out of his man hold several times!
Quick question: do I store his medications in the fridge?

He definitely looks cosy! Is Garf happy to see him again? I'd always store liquid antibiotics in the fridge, it just helps to keep them active. The fridge shouldn't hurt for any of them but they should come with storage instructions on them.

Nope no storage instructions as they've been decanted into little bottles so no packaging or anything. Stickers on them doesn't say much neither. Will pop em in fridge anyway I think

Okay, looked online, loxicom storage Store at controlled room temperature 68-77°F (20-25°C). Excursions permitted between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C). Brief exposure to temperature up to 104°F (40°C) may be tolerated provided the mean kinetic temperature does not exceed 77°F (25°C)
Zantac Store Zantac syrup between 39 and 77 degrees F (4 and 25 degrees C) in a tightly closed container. Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom.

What with my UK broadband being down for over a week, and then visiting my dad and getting back late last night, I've been catching up on the trials and tribulations. I'm really glad you bit the bullet and got TT sorted. It took a while it identify everything with Scaredygoo, and it was my weight charts that finally helped nail his jaw problems. Was there any indication of previous jaw trauma? Mine subluxes periodically so I either can't open my mouth properly, or can't bite together.
To see Mr "I don't need anyone" Garf have such a strong reaction to TT not being there for 24hrs is absolutely fantastic! I could almost see them shacked up together for NYE!

Bouncy is scaredygoo named as such because he's now afraid of people after having to have to be grabbed and force fed meds? I fear all this is ruining the trust I was building with Tibbs also he jumped from my arms today and cut his lip. I know this is all for his best interests but I doubt he knows that and now I'm just another mean giant who pokes and prods him like those students at the farm 😔

I know the grabbing is kinda heart breaking, but he will get over it, quite often they figure out you are helping and they end up tamer at the end of the treatment. Try giving him a treat after each syringe feeding. If you use a towel to grab and hold him and wrap him up it helps stop the legs thrashing and I think helps them submit because they can feel they are enclosed, or at least they can feel the only way out is forwards, so if you hook fingers around the shoulders you then have them pretty secure.
I store meds at room temp while they are in use and then if there is any left at the end of treatment I stick it in the fridge. I tend to think it might be less of a shock in the mouth at room temp.

I was kind of thinking along that line as well, Moletteuk. I would think that the cold from being in the fridge would be quite shocking and unpleasant. Especially for an animal that doesn't come into contact with cold like that in it's natural environment.

Yeah I'll just leave it out now. I think it's just unpleasant all round though and I'm awful at this. First he jumps and lands on his face and cuts his lip - praying now he hasn't chipped that front tooth again!! Then tonight he lunged forward out of the burrito and the syringe went down the poor sods throat almost. He was in such a shock and just sat there heart beating so fast trying to get his bearings. I'm really really hating 8ams and 8pms
