My Degu has stopped eating and drinking. He has lost a great amour of weight in 24 hours. One eye seems a little funky. Every once in a while he seems to have a seizure or a stroke. He starts jumping wildly and acts very violently. I separated him from his brother. He now has had 5 of these attacks in about 2 hours. It seems like he can't use half of his body and only walks in circles. He tips over a lot, too. At this point, it seems like he won't last the night. What do I do? He is 6 years old. Is he dying?

It does sound like a stroke but only a vet will be able to tell you for sure keep him warm and safe until you can get medical attention, fingers crossed for you

Oh dear, I'm sorry I can only say the same as Anita, try to keep him warm and comfortable until you can get him to a vet as soon as possible, you might need to try an emergency vet service with it being Easter.

I have a 4 year old degu who had a fit yesterday and has just had another one just now. He seems to be fine after a few mins .

Make sure he isn't too hot or too cold, and make sure he is eating and drinking, check him over for damage and that he can more normally and then get him checked out by your vet. If a vet isn't available until Monday, then keep a close eye on him over the weekend, make sure he isn't going to fall any distance and it will be useful to gather information anyway.
