Sigh. Last night Chuugi wouldn't come out of his hut to eat or to get treats. When I brought a kernel of puffed rice to him (had to lift the hut up to get to him – he had barricaded himself inside with paper), he could barely eat it. Did manage to munch on a few oats though.
This morning, the same. So I gave him some Metacam on some thawed frozen peas (which he ate) and made an appointment with the vet tomorrow morning. I am sure that Chuugi too is suffering from spurs like the others (Lilac, Sean, Go, possibly Shi) – but I am a bit more concerned about him because he has been snuffling as well.

Awww, Yasmin! I am so sorry! How distressing and painful to see so many suffering so much with something that is not easy to deal with.

Back from the vet. Chuugi's breathing is bad: his nostrils were flaring and he was squeaking with every breath when I got him to the vet. So vet did x-rays. Shows that one of Chuugi's molars is just beginning to make its way into his nasal cavity. No infection though so antibiotics won't be needed. Also, some downward molar growth beyond his bottom jaw. He also had a spur growing under his tongue and second one starting – all this on the same side of his face.
So now he is home after having the spurs removed and he will be getting Metacam once a day for at least the next three days. Will need to keep an eye on his breathing although not much can be done except administer Metacam to deal with inflammation and discomfort.
Sigh.
